Affording Healthy Food

A couple weeks ago I wrote about my local farmer’s market and how it helps me afford healthy food.  I think I was able to get about a week’s worth of produce for $12.  And even though we currently provide for a 2 person family on one grad student’s salary, I know there are people who are much worse off than us.  I came across a post on another food blog – Civil Eats – that’s honest and truly inspiring.  The blogger writes about trying to feed her family a healthy diet while on food stamps.  She writes about the challenges and victories she’s had after several years.  Here’s the direct link.
