We’re teaming up with fellow food bloggers to host a Brown-Bag Challenge, a month-long initiative to eat consciously and save money by packing a lunch each weekday instead of eating out. Join us here and share what you’re eating on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #brownbag.
Starting today, I’m going to be participating in Healthy Eats Brown-Bag Challenge. The challenge is to bring lunch from home (or eat lunch at home if you are currently unemployed like me) every weekday for the month of September. Weekends and dinners are still ok for eating out, but this is a chance to save a few bucks (at least $5-$10 a day). It’s also a good opportunity to switch out some unhealthy lunch habits for healthier, homemade ones. Throughout the next month I’ll try to post a few times a week about what I’m eating for lunch and offer other ideas for quick healthy lunches that are good for at home or on the go.
The folks over at Healthy Eats will also be posting healthy lunch options a few times a week during the challenge, so you should definitely check the out if you need more inspiration.
